Issue with RadeonPro and OS boot times.
Hello,

Recently started using RadeonPro for adaptive v-sync, some AA injection options, and SweetFX. But every time i have the program installed, my OS takes longer to boot.

More specifically, at the "welcome" screen when Windows is logging in, and it says Welcome. It sits there and hangs for like 10 seconds, when usually it's instant.

I'm using a HyperX SSD, and i don't even have RadeonPro set to start with windows. And it's not starting with windows, either. So i can't understand why RadeonPro would cause this, but the issue immediately stops upon un-install.

Thanks.

Not sure why, but do you have an active internet connection at Windows start time?

Asking you because of this: http://community.radeonpro.info/question...connection

Yes, i do.

I tried the solution in that thread, to no avail.

Tried allowing the program through MSE and Windows Firewall, didn't work.

I finally thought that maybe radeonpro has a service that starts on boot, so i went to Hkey Local machine > System > Current control set > Services and sure enough i found Radeon Pro support service. I set the Start value to 1 (for manual start) and sure enough the problem was solved. rebooted about 3 times to confirm.

So what is this Support Service doing that is causing system hangs? If theres no update checking, like you said in the other thread, what is this service for?

RE: Issue with RadeonPro and OS boot times.
The support service deals with Windows Registry.

By setting RP support service to manual you'll have to start it before you start RadeonPro.

Okay, well, i created a batch file to start the support service and the program, so it works great now.

Thanks for the help.
